Simmons Games Order Policies

• Scope of these Policies
  • These policies cover orders for products placed directly with Simmons Games. It covers the circumstances under which orders may be placed, what information may be collected, payment options, fulfilment and shipping, refunds and exchanges, and support after purchase. Dealers and distributers should contact for any questions about dealer and distributer sales policies.
• Order Placement
  • Orders can be placed in a variety of different ways. Although Simmons Games cannot accomodate in-person sales at its place of business, it may offer such sales at conventions, trade shows and similar occasions where a Simmons Games representative is present. Orders can be placed by postal mail, over the phone and by email, but the primary means of order placement is through this website.
• Website Order Placement
  • This is the preferred method of placing orders other than the special occasions on which in-person purchases are available.
  • Website orders can be placed by going to http://www.simmonsgames.com/store/, and then selecting the products to be ordered by clicking on the “Add to Cart” buttons for those products. The order process consists of the following pages.
    • Shopping Cart. You can view and edit the items in your order. Each time you add an item to your cart, you are taken to this page. From there, you can check out immediately or continue shopping and add more items.
    • Shipping. You can specify where you want the items in your order sent and what shipping method you prefer to use. Your shipping and handling costs, as well as sales tax (if applicable) are automatically calcuated for you here.
    • Payment. You can choose either credit card or PayPal as the payment method. If you choose to pay by card, your credit card billing information is entered here and is automatically validated when you submit this form. If you choose to pay by PayPal, you will be taken to PayPal’s website to authorize payment and then will be automatically returned to this website to complete your order.
    • Order Review. Your entire order is presented for your review. Your order is not submitted until you approve what you see. You can still go back and change anything about your order at this stage.
    • Confirmation. Order placement is complete and your order enters the fulfillment process.
  • Order status updates will be sent to the email address you provide during this process.
• PayPal Order Placement
  • PayPal payment can be made through the normal website order placement method: just click “PayPal” on the “Payment” page during check-out and then “Continue”. This will take you to the PayPal site where you can log into your account and authorize payment.
• In-Person Sales
  • Simmons Games does not operate a retail store-front and cannot accomodate in-person sales at its place of business.
  • Simmons Games may be present at trade shows, conventions, and similar events, and on such occasions may offer in-person sales on terms consistent with the rules governing the event in question. Those rules permitting, Simmons Games will generally accept cash, check, money order, or credit card for in-person sales, and will fulfill the purchase on the spot (local product inventory permitting).
  • In handling in-person sales, a shipping address is not needed, but contact information (email, phone, mailing address) will still be requested. Provision of such information is not, however, a requirement for acceptance of the sale except where necessary for check, money order or credit card clearance.
• Postal-Mail Order Placement
  • Orders can be placed by postal-mail at the company business address:

  • Postal-mail payment may be by check, money order, or credit card. Cash payment is strongly discouraged for postal-mail purchases. If payment is by check or money order, an additional week should be allowed for processing. Credit card purchases can be processed immediately.
  • A postal-mail order should include all of the following information:
    • The names and quantities of the items being ordered.
    • Payment. If paying by credit card, the card type (VISA or MasterCard), number, card owner name, expiration date, and billing address should be included. If paying by check or money order, it should be made out to "Simmons Games".
    • The address to which the products are to be shipped. If multiple shipping addresses are needed, which products are to go to which addresses must be clearly specified.
    • The shipping method preferred.
    • An email address and/or phone number where you can be contacted for inquiries or to resolve any issues. If an email address is provided, order status updates will be sent to that address.
  • If any of the above information is not provided or there is any other problem with your order, fulfillment may be delayed while efforts are made to contact you to resolve the problem.
  • Hint: The shopping cart order system can be used as an order form to mail in. To do so, add the items you wish to purchase to your cart, and proceed to the payment form. Then print out the page (if you are paying by credit card, you can fill that in before printing the page; otherwise leave it blank). Then send the print-out in as your order.
• Phone Order Placement
  • Orders can be placed by phone on Monday through Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM Pacific Time at the following number:

  • Phone payment can be made by credit card. Before calling, have the card available and be ready to provide the card type (VISA or MasterCard), number, expiration date, card owner name, and billing address.
  • In placing the order, you will be asked for the names and quantities of the products you are purchasing, the address to which they are to be shipped, and the shipping method preferred. You will also be asked for an email address to which order status updates can be sent, but an email address is not required for the order to be accepted.
• Email Order Placement
  • Orders can be placed by email by sending them to the following address:
  • Email payment can be made by credit card. Many people are reluctant to send credit card information by email, but an email order cannot be accepted without it. Those unwilling to send such information by email should use one of the other order methods available.
  • An email order should include all of the following information:
    • The names and quantities of the items being ordered.
    • Payment information. The card type (VISA or MasterCard), number, card owner name, expiration date, and billing address should be included.
    • The address to which the products are to be shipped. If multiple shipping addresses are needed, which products are to go to which addresses must be clearly specified.
    • The shipping method preferred.
    • The email address from which the order is sent will by default be used for order status updates. If you do not wish status updates to be sent or wish them to be sent to a different address, state your wishes in the email.
  • If you did not explicitly decline to receive them, order status updates will be sent to the email address you provided.you can fill that in before printing the page; otherwise leave it blank). Then send the print-out in as your order.
• Payment Options
  • Visa and MasterCard are accepted with all order placement methods. Checks and money orders are accepted for in-person and postal-mail sales. Cash is accepted for in-person sales and (reluctantly) for postal-mail sales.
  • Credit card sales must adhere to the policies of VISA or MasterCard, whichever is approrpriate. This means that the card must be physically present or that the card owner name, number, expiration, and billing address must be provided. Credit cards are not billed until the order has been fulfilled. For all orders other than in-person sales where it is fulfilled on the spot, this means when the order has been given to the shipping company for delivery.
  • Check and money order payments for in-person sales are deposited at the next opportunity, without any fulfillment delay. Check payments for postal-mail orders must be cleared before the order can be fulfilled.
  • Cash payment is normally accepted only for in-person sales. If cash is submitted for postal-mail sales, Simmons Games declines all liability in the event that the payment is not received.
  • Customers wishing to calculate a price can use the website order form as a calculator even if they do not itend to use it to place their order. To do so, add the items you wish to purchase to your cart, and proceed to checkout. Fill out the shipping form, and then proceed to the payment form. Stop there, and note the amount to be paid.
  • Customers in California paying by check or money order using postal mail should remember to include California state sales tax in the amount to be paid (7.25% of the purchase price).
• Shipping and Fulfillment
  • Standard shipping options for US orders are Free and Expedited. Non-US orders ship using the International option.
  • Free shipping will be made by either USPS 4th class mail, FedEx ground, or UPS ground, according to the size of the order and the destination. Delivery time will typically be from 3 to 10 days.
  • Expedited shipping will be made by USPS priority mail, and will generally take 2 days to most destinations.
  • International shipping will be made by either USPS Airmail or USPS priority mail and typically take 7 to 10 days, exclusive of customs delays. Customs delays are both highly variable and completely unpredictable: identical packages can be delivered with no customs delays at all, while others can be held for days or even weeks.
  • Orders are generally shipped within 24 hours of being placed, holidays and weekends excepted. Notice is supplied by email when an order is shipped.
  • Shipping rates are as follows (note: rates are subject to change without notice):

  • Friedrich has a 5 pound shipping weight and Bonaparte at Marengo has a 2 pound shipping weight.
  • Shipping rates are automatically added to the price when ordering using the website order form. For phone, in-person, postal-mail, or email credit card orders, the shipping cost will be added to the charge. For payment by check or money order, the customer should add the shipping cost to the amount to be paid.
• Sales Taxes
  • Orders placed by customers whose shipping or billing address is in Californa must add 7.25% California sales tax to the price of their purchase (sales tax is not applied to shipping – only the price of the items themselves). Non-California customers do not have to pay California sales tax.
  • Applicable sales taxes are automatically added to the price when ordering using the website order form. For phone, in-person, postal-mail, or email credit card orders, sales taxes (if applicable) will be added to the charge. For payment by check or money order, the customer should add the sales tax to the amount to be paid.
• Refunds and Exchanges
  • Unopened items can be returned for a full refund. Opened items cannot be refunded. Defective items or items damaged in shipping can be replaced at no additional charge.

  • In the email, identify yourself, give your order number and explain what you want done. You will be given instructions on how to proceed.
  • All applications for refunds and exchanges must be made within 30 days of the date of shipment (additional time may be allowed for international orders or orders whose fulfillment was delayed).
• Support after purchase
  • Questions regarding products may be made at any time after purchase. The support window for questions regarding the rules or components of the game is completely open. Questions may be made by phone or postal mail, but the preferred method is to send an email to:
